Out of Business

Holy Cow!
To put it politely.
You haven’t a clue.
Not even slightly.

You’re not even aware,
You don’t even know.
You’ve got to see this.
C’mon! Let’s go!

Can you believe it?!
What do you think?!
We never thought
It would actually sink!

But here we are
And there it is.
That’s it. It’s over.
It’s no longer his.

We knew he sucked.
We believed he was lost.
A matter of ego.
And here’s the cost.

The price to pay.
His business is gone.
He wouldn’t listen.
We were a pawn.

A cog in the wheel.
The machine couldn’t last.
He never learned
From the lessons from past.

He ignored the truth
And saw what he wanted.
Karma has spoken
And now he’ll be haunted.

And he’ll move on.
But you know he won’t learn.
Despite the scar.
In spite of the burn.

He’ll just blame it on others,
Like it wasn’t his place.
Those others were fat
And a total disgrace.

Funny not funny.
Dissapointing and sad.
He’ll never know
What we knew that he had.

What’s Behind it

What-about what’s not said?
Can you draw it out?
Do you know the issues?
They’re stemming from doubt.

There’s a bridge, yet divide;
an issue of trust;
a lack of alignment.
Listening’s a must.

But, see what you want…
You’re blind to what is;
Two sides to the story;
You fail to see his.

Hear what you want?
The very same deal;
You’ll entrench your beliefs,
But won’t find what’s real.

Dear, Greg (and Pat)

Sorry, not sorry.
Don’t need ya. You’re gone.
You’re a layer of fat;
Useless; a conn.

They’ve hired me back,
To come in and clean house.
You were never a leader;
Always a mouse.

Blind by your ego
You poisoned the pot;
Destroyed the department.
Just look what you got!

The producers are gone.
Your just down to three.
But, I’m bringing them back.
In short order we’ll see…

Results from good business;
The way things should be.
And, this starts with your firing.
Now go see Marie!

Drive Your Legs, Fella.

You did it,
But question
The effort you made.

You question
Your worth
Because of what you are paid.

You believe
You are better;
Your value unseen.

But, you won’t
Take the steps,
Like the addict won’t ween.

Yet you know
That the answer
Comes down to one fact.

You must believe in yourself,
And control how you act…

Means having a plan,
And trusting your way.
If you don’t take the steps
It’s here you will stay.

It’s all on you
To decide what to do,
So take a chance,
And see it through.

And trust in others,
Who have braved it before.
They all speak of effort,
As being the core.

No short-cuts; hard work,
Is the key to success.
There will be road blocks,
So expect no less.

It’s never give up
Until you realize your dream.
But, you must takes the steps
If your to rise with the cream.

Failing Employers

A string of words held up, high,
Over the heads of others;
Within… ideology… mantra…
The leaders are trapped…
Driven to force a short-sighted vision.
Drawn from greed, believing in a machine, of people; an unnatural energy, made up of unique minds, uncontent accepting roles within a far less than great place.

Fight for it.

Clarity comes
To those who persist.
A light can come on
When you’ve swung and missed.

That certain thing clicks
At the end of the day.
Once you’ve said, I’ve got more;
When you decided to stay.

Shut-it down though,
And you cannot learn.
The lessons lie
Just ahead of the turn.

You got to face
The fears of now
In order to know
The way; the how.

So challenge yourself
To find your way;
To never give up.
Your effort will pay.

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

We’re in such different places.
We’ve such different views.
You don’t even know
The length of my fuse.

I know where you’re shallow.
I can guess why you’re cold.
You can’t relate
To the things that I hold.

And so, here we are.
An odd-couple at best.
I’m walking on egg shells
With things on my chest.

I won’t turn to you
To speak my mind.
The question is…
Should I leave you behind?

Or, accept it, as is,
Though I don’t feel free.
Why would I stay,
If I can’t be me?
