Like a Bathroom

I politely knocked, and was met with anger.

I didn’t even know you were in there. But, there’s a door right? Closed, yes, but why I knocked. And, the space you occupied is not your own, right, which is why I was knocking right?… because I had an interest in occupying the space.

_____

People are more or less aware and considerate. Many are so utterly consumed with themselves… to the point they can’t see others as they (others) are and as they (others) are doing.

Know Your Blindness

Think of a situation that really gets your blood boiling. Maybe a family member or friend. Maybe a situation at work. Maybe the sight of someone not wearing (or wearing) a mask in a public place.

Now imagine that situation as you can imagine staring into a pond, where the sunlight is reflecting right into your eyes; not a cloud in the sky. Blinding.

You’re at the pond fishing, and as you walk along the shore you’re wanting to see below the surface and to see some fish so you’ll know where to cast. You may realize, it’s not the suns fault that you can’t see. And, you may realize, you have the choice to turn around and to head in the other direction.

But, depending on the conditions, you still may not be able to see below the surface. Realize, this is temporary. Conditions change.

Back to the situation you had in mind…

It’s temporary right?… even if it’s a situation you deal with regularly. The moment is temporary. And, this is about exploration of self, and how we react to things.

When facing the unpleasant situation, you could try turning the other direction. And, you could also try facing it with a little more patience with yourself and with the other person(s). As hard as it may be, realize you’re not in control of others. You are in control of yourself and of how you respond.

Consider this too…

Light can be blinding, and it’s also needed to see.

When blinded by it, in the case of the pond and fishing, I like to say, it’s just one of those days, and I don’t need to see the fish to be able to cast. I might get lucky.

The other thing… if you’re never blinded, it’s hard if not impossible to grow. If you’re always seeing and doing things the same way, that’s very limited, and that’s just not the way life is. It’s good to be challenged.

If I only ever casted where I could see the fish, that would leave 90% of the pond unexplored.

The biggest fish I’ve ever caught were from casts at night and from casts into deeper, unknown waters.

Competition Brings Ugly to Light

I don’t need your approval.

i don’t care what you think.

You’re a bit like a fly.

You won’t make me blink.

___

You’re welcome to hate me,

But deep down you know,

I’m not you’re problem.

I’m just little ol’ Joe.

_____

And, I know why you’re angry.

I’ve called you out.

You’ve been living in shadows.

We both know your doubt(s). And, you know…

____

You guys have a choice,

And a decision to make.

Will you grow and improve,

Or remain weak and fake?

___

It’s fine. No hard feelings.

i wish you all well.

But, from where I stand

You’re living in hell.

____

Self preservation.

You said it yourself.

Survival mode,

Much like your health.

____

Gotta feed-family

And keep the lights on.

But, it’s you who is suspect,

And your dealings are wrong….

If you’re pretending to be something your not,

And selling others while hiding the truth.

____

Funny that you want to point the finger at me, but I get it. No problem.

Just consider and remember, for your own sake… You’re your own problem. You have the choice to improve. When / if you do, you’ll have nothing to hide from.

For Others. In the name of Love.

Do you know the sound of a Blue Jay? Its chirps?

I do, and when I hear it, I think of my twin brother Jay and that his name was changed from Jack to Jay because we were adopted into a family that had a Jack, and we couldn’t have that; two Jacks.

And so, from time to time, I wonder about the impact, of that, on Jay.

From time to time I look back.

And, from time to time, i wonder what I still carry from the past, and I wonder what life would be like if i were fully free from the weight and pain that is a part of me.

i am thankful for my past despite the tragedies. I am grateful for all of the people that have been in my life, and for the love I’ve been given.

And, here we are, with this moment, now, and the opportunity to be and to become.

I choose to believe that I am here for others, in the name of Love.

May this help you with your journey. Love,

Now and Forever Now

What do you want for yourself?

Are your desires grounded in health?

When you wake are you grateful? And, are you-with what is here? Or, are you racing, and what-is-it you fear?

If you know who you are and you know what you want… what about giving it back?

Do you give of yourself? In all that you do? Is there something you think that you lack?

Think of your thoughts. Be aware of your feelings. Do you feel good now, in the space where you are?

What is it that’s missing? A story, or real? This is Your Limit; your bar.

So, get in touch with yourself, and learn your distractions. We must learn to get out of our way.

You know what I mean. Your Self you have seen.

Get unlost and be better today.

Perhaps Most Important…

This is the perfect articulation of an idea that is so important for all of us to realize.

“The mind’s internal dialogue is the source of our dissatisfaction; not the subject of its complaints.”

Control of your mind is the way to happiness.

You are in charge.

You are not a victim.

Don’t allow others nor circumstances to dictate how you’re feeling and what you’re thinking.

Choose to grow. Use affirmations. Believe in yourself. Believe in this life. Trust that you are with love and that your true self is love.

We are here for others. Give of yourself, wherever you are, and may you also be open to receiving love.

Passing Through

I’m passing through.

I’m on my way.

I don’t get stuck

Throughout the day.

On a path, within the road. No avoiding getting old.

Certain things I need to do. Ensuring that my dreams come true.

Clearer now, the way to be. I’ve learned to learn the way to see…

Things and stuff, they come and go. See past those things and you will grow… the way you should.
